Accountability

The quality and safety of operations of the Port of Raahe is demonstrated by means of several quality certificates, in addition to which operations are regulated by a number of laws and regulations. 

Environmental responsibility

The Port of Raahe promotes sustainable development and Finland’s carbon neutrality target. We operate in a responsible manner and develop our port to minimise pollution, and to ensure that all our emissions are as harmless and environmentally friendly as possible. We monitor the energy efficiency of our operations, recycle, and service and develop our systems in our efforts towards carbon-neutral port operations.

We comply with the ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system.

Social responsibility

The Port of Raahe serves business and industry not only in its own economic area but also the entire country. The port’s operations have positive impacts on local employment and the economy.

We take the impacts of our operations on people living in the neighbouring areas into account, we cooperate with the Town of Raahe and other stakeholders, and we communicate regarding our operations in a transparent manner.

We take care of the safety and wellbeing of our employees at work. Our staff is committed to the values of the Port of Raahe.

We comply with the ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety management system.

Financial responsibility

One of the values of the Port of Raahe is financial and operational responsibility towards its owners and customers. The port regularly reports to its Board of Directors and the Town of Raahe.

We take care of the profitability of both our company and our economic area. We invest and maintain our infrastructure to secure our competitiveness.

The Port of Raahe pays tax, annual dividends and rent to the Town of Raahe.

Responsibility to communicate

The objective of the Port of Raahe is to communicate its operations in an honest, open and transparent manner. We communicate the goals and accountability of the port as well as other values that are important to us. We benefit from technology in our communications but value personal encounters. Port staff hold regular weekly meetings, which are part of internal communications.
